How Long Does It Take to Charge an Electric Car at Home?

You can charge your electric vehicle at home by either plugging the cord that came with it into an existing wall socket (Level 1) or by purchasing a charging unit and having it professionally installed (Level 2). Most drivers find it’s worth it to install a charger as this method reduces EV charging time by several hours. The good news is that Chevrolet will cover installation of a Level 2 charger at your home when you purchase a Chevy Bolt EV orBolt EUV.
