StabiliTrak is an electronic stability enhancement system
that helps you maintain control of your vehicle during certain low-traction
driving conditions like ice, snow, gravel, wet pavement and uneven road
surfaces. The StabiliTrak Control System works by recognizing wheel skid. Sensors
detect the difference between the steering wheel angle and the direction you’re
actually turning by “reading” the steering-wheel position, sideways force in
play, vehicle speed and response to steering-wheel input. The system then uses the brakes to enhance
control of your vehicle’s direction to help keep it on course.
Advanced Engine Design Technology provides greater fuel
economy. Displacement on Demand saves fuel by using only half of the engine’s cylinders when driving with a light
load and seamlessly opens all cylinders when needed for brisk acceleration or
for hauling heavy loads. E85 flexible fuel vehicles can use either gasoline or E85 alternative fuel. E85, a renewable, domestically produced
alternative fuel composed of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline is a clean alternative to petroleum based fuel that substantially reduces
greenhouse gas emissions from automobiles.
